Some of the most beautiful things worth having in your life come wrapped in a crown of thorns. - Shannon L. Alder
Having to compare the relationship between the fulfillment of our dreams, desires, visions and the adversity alongside the sacrifices that come with it to how roses and prickles are inevitably intertwined got me really thinking. Is it possible to have my Roses without the prickles attached? Can I be lost in the beauty, elegance and fragrance of my roses without being pricked? How can such beauty come with an attachment so delicate?
Everyone wants to win in life or at least everyone has a desire they want fulfilled. But it seems that these desires don't just make themselves readily available. Just a stretch won't bring them closer. Here we stand, looking over our roses ready to be picked, at the same time, the adversity we have to face while not losing focus the price we have to pay alongside.
Yes, the PRICKLES are the adversities, and being able to meticulously work around them in order to have our roses and not get pricked is the price we have to pay. Well, it seems that often times we do get pricked and could even bleed.
Whichever way, the question remains; Will I choose to face the adversity and pay the price or let go of everything altogether?
Paying the price to face our fears is the crucial first step that takes us closer to that which we desire.
The Philistines had come to harass and oppress the Israelites, loosing the fight to them would mean SERVITUDE. Goliath would not back down neither would the Israelites face him. He was such a mountain of fear to them. And here comes David who is ready to get all the Roses for His people, he wouldn't allow the prickles stop him.
He was ready to face it because, the roses were worth having! The victory was worth having! Well, just so you know, all he had was a sling and a stone to slay the almighty Goliath.
Would you back down at this juncture or face your fear and get the victory? Know that victory is not received, it is earned and gotten. God is set to give us victory the moment we choose to face our fears.
